The super fours and the place -deciding classification matches of the eight-team Hero 10th Men’s Asia Cup Hockey will begin on Wednesday at the Maulana Bhashani National Stadium here with three matches billing for the day.
The Pool B champions Malaysia, which smartly reached the super-4 stage with all-win record will Pool A runners-up Pakistan in the opening super 4 match at 3:00 pm while favorite India, which clinched the Pool A crown, also with all-win record, will play holders and Pool B runners-up South Korea in the other match at 5:30 pm on the day.
On the following day, South Korea will face Pakistan at 3:00 pm while two unbeaten teams -India and Malaysia – will meet each other in another super-4 match at 5:30 pm.
The top two teams of the four-team super league will play in the title deciding final on October 22 at 5:30 pm while bottom two teams will meet each other for the 3rd slot at 3 pm on same day.
The 3rd ranked team of Pool A Japan will face bottom team of Pool B Oman in a 5th to 8th place deciding match on Wednesday at the same venue at 8 pm.
Hosts Bangladesh, which looking for the 6th place in the eight-team fray, will play upper ranked China at 8:00 pm on Thursday.
If Bangladesh win match against China then they will face the winners of Japan and Oman match for the 5th slot at 5:30 pm on Friday.
In case of any defeat against China, then Bangladesh will meet the losers of Japan-Oman match for the 7th place at 3:00 pm on Friday.
If Bangladesh will concede defeat in both of their place-deciding classification match, then they will finish bottom in the eight-nation meet have to play qualification round to play in the Asia Cup Hockey.
Bangladesh completed the Pool A engagements with empty hand losing all the three group matches, losing to both Pakistan and India by 0-7 goals and conceded 1-3 defeat against Japan.
