Sunny Dale and Viqarunnisa Noon School & College reached the final of the Girls’ Group of the Polar Ice cream 22nd School Handball Tournament on Monday.
In the day’s first semifinal, Sunny Dale defeated Dhanmondi Tutorial by 6-3 goals after completing the first half with a 4-3 goals lead at the Shaheed (Captain) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium.
In the day’s second semifinal, Viqarunnisa Noon School & College thrashed Scholastica by 13-3 goals after finishing the first session with a 7-0 goals lead at the same venue.
Meanwhile, Dhaka Residential Model School & College finished third in the Boys’ Group when they drubbed Play-Pen by 12-6 goals in a place-deciding match at the same venue on the same day.
The winners led the first 5-2.
Today Sunny Dale will face Viqarunnisa Noon School & College in the final of the Girls’ Group at 1.00 pm at the same venue while Saint Gregory’s High School will take on Dhanmondi Tutorial in the final of the Boys’ Group at the same venue on the same day.
Besides, Dhanmondi Tutorial and Scholastica will lock horn today in a place- deciding match of the Girls’ Group, which starts at 12.00 noon at the same venue.
After the final match of the Boys’ Group, Police Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Benazir Ahmed, BPM (bar) will distribute the prizes among the winners as the chief guest while Director of Polar Ice cream KM Touhiduzzaman will be with him as the special guest.
President of Bangladesh Handball Federation AKM Nurul Fazal Bulbul will preside over the prize-giving ceremony.
