Adam Johnson can continue to play for Sunderland after he was charged on Thursday with three offences of sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl.
The 27-year-old has played three times for the club since his 2 March arrest.
The club released a statement saying they would “review the matter” while the legal process takes place.
Head coach Dick Advocaat said winger Johnson would be part of the squad for Saturday’s Premier League game at Stoke City (15:00 BST) if he “felt OK”.
