Sunday’s hat-trick mauls Soccer Club

Dhaka Abahani’s Nigerian forward Sunday Chizoba made the first hat-trick of the ongoing JB Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football to guide his team to a comfortable 5-1 goals victory over Soccer Club, Feni at Bangabandhu National Stadium here on Monday.
With the day’s feat, Dhaka Abahani further consolidated their lead in the league table securing 29 points from 13 matches while Soccer Club remained at nine points playing 13 matches.
Apart from Sunday’s hat-trick featuring three goals, Jewel Rana and Saad netted one goal each for the sky-blue popular Dhanmondi outfit Abahani while Felix scored the consolation for Soccer Club.
In the day’s match, winger Jewel Rana opened the floodgate for Abahani in the 18th minute after taking the advantage of a faulty clearance by opponent defender and fired the net by a low shot beating Guinean defender Camara Mamadou (1-0).
Sunday Chizoba doubled the Abahani margin in the 26th minute by flicking the ball past Soccer Club goalie Sujan Chowdhury off a low cut from Lee Tuck (2-0).
Striker Sunday scored his 2nd and the 3rd goal for Abahani in the 54th minute following a spot kick (3-0). Abahani were awarded the spot kick when Camara Mamadou of Soccer Club fouled onrushing Jewel Rana in the danger zone.
Sunday’s spot kick was fisted by a diving Sujan that came to Sunday again via Jewel Rana. And finally Sunday pushed the ball home (3-0).
Nigerian midfielder Uche Felix reduced the margin for Soccer Club in the 58th minute by a low shot from the middle of the box (3-1).
Sunday completed his hat-trick in the 62nd minute, utilising a through pass of Emon Babu (4-1).
In the 88th minute, substitute midfielder Saad Uddin netted the 5th fifth goal for Abahani by a cracking right footer from the right edge of the box (5-1).
Soccer Club were reduced to 10 men in the stoppage time of the match as their forward Chowmrin Rakhain got marching order after receiving a direct red card.
