Sunamganj MP Ratan asked to appear at ACC

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has issued a notice to Awami League (AL) lawmaker Moazzem Hossain Ratan to appear him at the Headquarters of the anti-watchdog body.
On Monday, a letter in this regard signed by ACC Director Syed Iqbal Hossain, was sent to the MP of Sunamganj Constituency-1.
He was asked to appear at the ACC Headquarters in the city’s Segun Bagicha on February 18.
Evidence of his involvement in money-laundering was found in the ACC investigation.
ACC official sources said, the investigators have launched probe works of corruption and irregularities against Ratan MP and found involvement of the allegations primarily. Later, the ACC issued travel ban on him on October 24.
Earlier on September 30 last year, casino kingpin GK Shamim was arrested from the city’s Niketan area apart from the countrywide drive against casino and drug. Even ACC then started investigation and filed a case against GK Shamim on October 21. Later he was remanded and disclosed the name of some high profiles, including Moazzem Hossain Ratan MP.
