Summit-DRU Media Cup Cricket begins today at the Moulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium.
Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) has arranged the cricket competition. Summit Group is the title sponsor of the tournament. Sonali Bank Limited, Standard Bank Limited, Janata Bank Limited and KN-Harbour Consortium are the co-sponsors of the cricket meet.
President of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Nazmul Hasan Papon, MP, will be the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony, while Director of BCB Jalal Younus, Director of BCB Enayet Hossain Siraj, Director of BCB Ismail Haider Mallick, General Secretary of Bangladesh Hockey Federation Abdus Sadeq, President of Bangladesh Volleyball Federation Md Atiqul Islam, Managing Director of Sonali Bank Limited Md Obayed Ullah Al Masud, Managing Director of Janata Bank Limited Md Abdus Salam Azad, Managing Director of Standard Bank Limited Mamun-ur-Rashid and Chairman of KN Harbour Consortium Rezaul Haque Chowdhury Mushtaq will be present with him as special guests.
The champions will get Taka fifty thousand and a trophy, while the runners-up will be given Taka twenty five thousand and a trophy.
The six-day long cricket meet will be concluded on April 3.
