Today is the second death anniversary of noted film actress Sultana Zaman. To mark the day, a milad
mahfil is scheduled to be held at Sultana Zaman’s son, Bappi Zaman’s
residence in the city’s Bashundhara area after Asr prayer. Two years ago on this day Sultana Zaman died. She was 76. Her
husband Q M Zaman was a noted cinematographer.
In the industry, Sultana Zaman started her acting career by Mohiuddin
directed a movie titled Matir Pahar. Later Sultana Zaman acted in movies Chanda, Notun Digonto, Onek Diner Chena, Jowar Elo, Moner Moto Bou, Janajani, Jongli Phul, Sonar Kajol, Mala, Ujala, Chhadmobeshi,
Bhanumoti, etc.
She received the Lifetime Achievement Award in the National Film Award 2009.
