Jatia Oikayfront candidate Sultan Mohammad Monsur Ahmed allegedly beaten cops while police stopped their rally at Lalpur area in Kulaura Upazila of Moulvibazar on Monday afternoon.
Injured three cops are identified as Sub-inspector Johirul Islam Talukder, 33, SI Riadul Islam,28, Niranjan Islam,35, in Kulaura police station. They were admitted to Kulaura Health Complex, Zakir Hosain, residential medical officer of Kulaura police station.
Injured sub-inspector Johirul Islam said, Sultan Monsur beaten me while we stopped his motorcycles rally campaigns in the area.
Sultan Monsur said, I am passing busy time for my campaign. I don’t know about this matter.
Shamim Musha, officer-in-charge of Kulaura police station said, Oikayfront candidate Sultan Monsur had beaten our three SI while they were on duty. We are taking preparation for filing case. Earlier, Oikayfront leaders including BNP men vandalized five AL campaigns offices in different area in Kulaura Upazila in Moulvibazar-2.
