Bangladesh national cricket team manager Khaled Mahmud Sujon’s alleged visit to a casino has raised a storm in the social media.
A few days back, Pakistan team’s chief selector Moin Khan was sent home for visiting a casino before the match with the West Indies, but Mahmud ‘placing bets at a casino’ is a shock to the Tigers supporters across the globe.
Sujon, however, did not deny going there. Speaking to private satellite channel, he said he did go there, but not to place bets.
A couple of witnesses told the TV channel they had seen Mahmud placing bets there, but the former captain maintains he went to a eatery adjacent to the casino with some friends.
“It’s not a big deal. The players know me very well,” said the former cricketer.
When he was reminded that pacer Al Amin was sent home for going outside the hotel without permission, Mahmud said, “He is a player. He has to abide by some rules. Being the team manager, I did not feel the need to inform anyone.”
