Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma’s Sui Dhaaga has finally hit the screens on Friday and has opened to a decent response at the box-office. The early shows of the film have registered an occupancy close to 40% which is pretty decent considering the film is not a typical commercial entertainer.
Produced by Yash Raj Films, this is the first time we will be seeing Varun and Anushka playing such simpleton characters. This film has been released in 2500 screens in India and 700 screens overseas. The worldwide screen count is 3200. The film has received positive reviews from critics across the country and with a good word of mouth we definitely expect it to score big in the weekend. Looking at the current scenario, trade analysts expect the film to earn around 8-9 crores in its opening day.
Popular trade analyst Girish Johar feels that the leading pair of Varun Dhawan and Anushka Shama will help the film a long way at the box office. He said, “Varun, Anushka and YRF are a superb combination. Also, they have made the right noise about their film. The buzz and appeal of it is very good and going by the current times when desi stories are doing well at the box office, I feel Sui Dhaaga should clock around Rs 10 crore at the BO on its day 1.”
