BSS, Dhaka :The noted poet and social reformer, Sufia Kamal’s, 15th death anniversary will be observed today.Marking the day, different social and cultural organizations have takenvarious programmes to observe the day in a befitting manner.A memorial discussion titled “Young generation’s active role is a must for resisting violence against women” will be held at CIRDAP auditorium here. Leaders of women and human rights activists will take part in the discussion. Sufia Kamal, a torchbearer of the country’s culture, tradition, Liberation War and Language Movement, was born on June 20, 1911 and died on November 20, 1999.She fought for women’s rights and liberty that later turned into a movement against social injustice, superstition and religious intolerance.
