Suchorita started her career as a child artiste. Later, she acted in many films and got huge popularity among the viewers. She also got the National Film Award for the recognition of her acting. But she has still dissatisfaction about the matter. When she could not understand acting properly she acted outstandingly well in movie Jadur Banshi. Viewers also appreciated her acting in movie Jibon Nouka. But she did not get the award for those two films. She got the award for acting in Chashi Nazrul Islam’s Hangor Nodi Grenade.
While talking in this regard Suchorita told this correspondent, “Earlier, I was informed that I would get the National Award for Jadur Banshi but a madam of our industry received the award later. During that time it was said that I couldn’t understand acting so after getting the award I will play with it. It hurt me a lot. In fact, I was really impressed with my acting in that movie. When I remember the incidence it gives me pain still now.” In Subhash Dutta directed movie Kagojer Nouka, Suchorita’s elder sister Baby Rita also acted. Suchorita and Champa went to watch her elder sister’s shooting. There she got offer to act in role of a child artiste in Mustafiz’s movie Koolie. Suchorita’s real name is Helen. As a child artiste, she also acted in several films like Nimai Sonyashi, Rong Berong, Obanchito, Koto Je Minoti, Rajmukut, etc.
As a heroine, Suchorita acted in Azizur Rahman’s Swikriti, Dilip Biswas’ Somadhi and Ashok Ghosh’s Mastan one after another.
After getting popularity, Gazi Mazharul Anwar changed her name into Suchorita from Helen. From that time to till now she acted in more than 300 movies.
Suchorita informed that after a break she is going to work in title role in Bodiul Alam Khokon’s a movie titled Aamar Maa Aamar Behesth where Aliraj is acting in role of her husband while Saimon Sadik is playing in role of her son in the film. Shooting of last phase of this movie will end in December.
