Md. Zia Uddin of Tepamdhupur village in Kaunia upazila of Rangpur district has become self-reliant by taking help of NATP project. The NATP project is implementing various activities in Rangpur district for the expansion of modern fisheries technology, marketing, fish production and market breeding.
The project is being implemented in five upazilas of Rangpur district. In addition to training and exhibition activities, net distribution, pickup vans, distribution, easybike distribution, pellet machine, digital kit box distribution, aerator are distributed.
Five pickup vans, eight pellet machines, five easybikes and ten sets of aerators were distributed in Rangpur district. By supplying oxygen to the water through the aerator, fish can be farmed in the pond at higher density. Md. Zia Uddin of Tepamdhupur village in Kaunia upazila received three aeroters worth Rs. Where you used to get 12-13 kg per century. His two-acre pond is about 6. Produces 0 metric tons of fish with a market value of about 15 lakh rupees.
Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture Md. Mesbahul Islam and Project Director Md. Matiur Rahman, District Fisheries Officer Barun Chandra Biswas, Chairman of Kaunia Upazila along with Livestock Officer, Upazila Nirbahi Officer and other officials visited Md. Zia Uddin’s pond on Friday afternoon. Satisfied to see. They later attended an exchange meeting with CIG, non-CIG members under the project.
District Fisheries Officer Barun Chandra Biswas said that Md. Zia Uddin has achieved success by cultivating fish in ponds at higher densities by taking aerators under the NATP project. Like Md. Zia Uddin, if everyone goes ahead in fish farming in this way, unemployment will be eliminated and employment will be created for the youth.
