Benzir Ahamed , Director General (DG) of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) said, terrorism and subversive activities have reduced in the country as the law enforcers took action against the saboteurs
The DG made this comment while talking to newsmen at Mymensingh circuit house on Tuesday evening during his visit to Mymensingh
He said, the people of the country are the key forces. Terrorism, killing and subversive activities will be uprooted with the joint efforts of the government and the people of the country. Benzir stressed the need for building strong resistance against terrorism and anarchy to save the lives and properties of the people as well as establish peace in the country.
Responding to a question regarding the progress of Avijit Roy’s murder case DG told the journalists that Detective Branch (DB) was interrogating Shafiur Rahman Farabi. He hoped that miscreants involved in the murder would be arrested.
Deputy Commissioner Mostakim Billah Faruqui, Commanding officer RAB 14 Rafiqul Islam, Police Super Moinul Haque and other officials of law enforcing agencies were present.
Earlier DG exchanged views with the district administration, Police and RAB on the law and order situation.
