Yesterday was a memorable day for Ekushey Award winner noted actress Suborna Mustafa. She took oath as the Parliament Member of the reserved seat in the 11th National Parliament at 10:30am. She got the nomination from the ruling party. Her father noted actor late Golam Mustafa’s birthday was also yesterday. Before taking oath Suborna went to her father’s graveyard at Martyred Intellectuals’ Graveyard in Mirpur. Suborna called her father Boba.
While sharing her feelings after taking the oath Suborna told this correspondent, “I am really excited in this regard. Everybody told me that I have the ability to take the responsibility properly so I am getting courage now. Basically I have not to be busy with acting in a month’s 30 days. If I like story and role then I will give my schedule besides taking part as MP. I will work by own way.”
Suborna last acted against Afzal Hossain in Badrul Anam Soud’s play Akkhor Theke Uthey Asha Manush.
