Court Correspondent :
The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka yesterday deferred again the deadline to submit the investigation report in the Sagar-Runi murder case to November 11.
As the probe report was not submitted to the CMM on Sunday, Magistrate Mazharul Haque rescheduled the deadline for 51 times the same day.
The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has been given the responsibility to investigate in the murder case of Maasranga Television news editor Sagar Sarowar and his wife ATN Bangla senior reporter Meherun Runi. They were found dead in their apartment in the city’s West Rajabazar area on February 12 in 2012.
Primarily, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station investigated the case. Later, Detective Brfanch (DB) of police reinvestigated the murder incident. As the detectives failed to find out the clues of murder, the High Court directed RAB to carry out the investigation. Earlier, RAB officials said that the motive behind the murder would be clear once the report on the evidence from the USA would reach them. Meanwhile, the report reached, but the motive behind the murder is yet to be clear.
