The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka yesterday (Tuesday) set January 22 to submit probe report in the case filed over killing of Taslima Begum Renu, 40, in mob beating in city’s North Badda area.
Magistrate Mohammad Jasim of the CMM Court of Dhaka passed the order as the Investigation Officer (10) of the case could not submit the report on Tuesday.
On July 20 in the morning, Taslima Begum Renu, mother of two, went to North Badda Government Primary School in connection with her daughter’s admission. She went to take information about admission of her daughter Tahsin Tuba.
On suspicion, some guardians took Renu in the room of the school head teacher for questioning. Angry locals, who gathered outside, later, snatched the woman away and lynched her.
Police responded immediately, but the woman had died before they arrived.
Later, Renu’s nephew Nasir Uddin filed the case with Badda Police Station accusing 400-500 unidentified people.
