The submission of the investigation report in the case filed against a lone accused on the charge of raping a young girl at his Banani house of the city was deferred to February 7 on Wednesday.
Magistrate Fahad Bin Amin Chowdhury of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court passed the order fixing the new date yesterday, as SI Sultana Akter of Banani Police Station and investigation officer of the case could not submit the report on Wednesday.
On July 5, last year the young girl filed the case against Bahauddin Evan, son of a businessman, on the charge of violating her after inviting her in his birthday party at his house on July 4. According to the first information report (FIR), the victim met Evan on Facebook 11 months back and both developed an affair since then. Evan invited the girl in his birthday party at his house on the day saying he wanted to introduce her with his mother.
But, he violated the girl confining her to his residence and drove her out around 3.30 am on July 5, the FIR added.
Earlier, on July 12, last year, Evan gave a confessional statement to a Dhaka court admitting his involvement in the violation of the 21 year-old girl.
