The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka has fixed June 29 to submit the probe report in the case filed in connection with the sensational murder of journalist couple Sagar-Runi in 2012.
Magistrate Erfan Ullah of the CMM Court passed the order on Sunday after hearing on a time petition submitted by the Investigation Officer (IO) of the case. Earlier, May 25 was scheduled for submission of the report.
The journalist couple was killed in their own house of West Rajabazar in the city on February 11, 2012.
The following day slain journalist Meherun Runi’s brother Nowsher Alam lodged a murder case with Sher-e-Banglanagar Police Station of the capital.
The Detective Branch (DB) Police was originally asked to enquire into the matter. Later, the responsibility of the probe of the sensational murder case was transferred to the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).
