Court Correspondent :
A Dhaka court yesterday (Monday) deferred the date to submit the probe report on further investigation in the case filed in connection with the killing of Jubo League leader Riazul Haque Khan Milky.
Magistrate Jahangir Hossain of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka fixed August 18 for submission of the report as the Criminal Investigation Department of Police did
not submit the report on Monday. Following a Naraji (No-confidence) petition of Milky’s elder brother Major Rashedul Haque Khan, the CMM Court of Dhaka directed the CID to re-investigate the killing case last year.
On April 15, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Assistant Police Super Kazemur Rashid submitted the charge sheet of the case in the court against 12 people.
Milky, Organizing Secretary of Dhaka city (South) unit of Jubo League, was gunned down by his close associate Tarek, who was also the Joint Secretary of the unit, in front of Shoppers World at Gulshan of the capital in the wee hours of July 30, 2013. Hours after the killing of Milky, RAB arrestead Tarek from a hospital at Uttara and on August 1 of the same year, Tarek and another suspected terrorist, Shah Alam, were killed in a ‘shootout’ with RAB.
Rashedul Haque, brother of the victim, filed the case on the same day against 11 identified and some unidentified people.
