Chittagong Bureau :A delegation of Southern University of Bangladesh led by its Vice-chancellor Prof Mohammad Ali, met Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid and UGC Chairman Professor Abdul Mannan at University Grants Commission Bhaban recently. The other member was Mr Sarwar Jahan, Founder of Southern University.During the meeting, the Southern University delegation apprised the Minister and UGC Chairman of various activities of the university. Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid and UGC Chairman Professor Abdul Mannan underscored the need for ensuring quality education in the university so that its students can compete in the international arena. The Minister urged the delegation to maintain the standard of education and put in their best efforts so that the students can acquire modern knowledge. During the meeting, Vice-chancellor Prof Mohammad Ali and Founder of Southern University Mr Sarwar Jahan expressed gratitude to the Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid and UGC Chairman Professor Abdul Mannan for appointment.
