The three-day 45th Sub-regional School & Madrasa Winter Games and Sports Competitions-2016 kicked off at Rangpur Zila School (RZS) ground last morning.
The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education has been organizing the games and sports competitions through the National School and Madrasa Sports Association under management of its Rangpur Sub-regional Committee.
Divisional Commissioner (Additional Secretary) Muhammad Dilwar Bakht attended the inaugural ceremony and formally launched the group-wise games and sports competitions by releasing balloons as the chief guest.
Chairman of the 45th Sub-regional Games & Sports Competitions-2016 Committee and Rangpur Regional Deputy Director of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education Mostaq Habib presided over the ceremony.
Rangpur Regional School Inspector of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education Shamsul Alam, Headmaster of Rangpur Zila School Abu Rayhan Mizanur Rahman and Headmistress of Rangpur Government Girls’ High School Farida Yasmin addressed the function.
General Secretary of the 45th Sub-regional Games & Sports Competitions-2016 Committee and Rangpur Regional Assistant School Inspector of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education Abdul Hanif Sarker also spoke.
All eight District Education Officers from Rangpur, Dinajpur,Nilphamari, Panchagarh, Thakurgaon, Kurigram, Lalmonirhat and Gaibandha districts under Rangpur division were present, among others.
The students of Rangpur Government Girls’ High School, Rangpur Government Shishu Paribar (Girls), RCCI School & College and Rangpur Shishu Niketan School exhibited colourful physical displays in the inaugural ceremony.
