Vice-Chancellor of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology Prof Rafiqul Islam Sheikh urged students to become worthy citizens after acquiring knowledge properly.
“You have to be skilled to serve the nation,” he said this on Thursday while addressing the orientation programme, of the newly admitted students in the 2019-2020 academic session, held in the auditorium of the university as the chief guest. A total of 1,235 students got admitted in 14 departments under four faculties of the university this year.
Dean of Civil Engineering Faculty Prof Kamruzzaman Sarker, Mechanical Engineering Faculty Dean Prof Mosharraf Hossain, Electrical and Computer Engineering Faculty Prof Jahurul Islam Sarker and Applied Science and Humanities Faculty Dean Prof Bellal Hossain also spoke while Students Welfare Director Prof Rabiul Awal was in the chair.
VC said the main motto of the students should be learning knowledge on their respective fields properly so that they can build themselves as nation-building force.
