Speaker of the Parliament Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury on Tuesday urged the students to attain skills in information technology (IT) to prove their worth in the global competition.
“Students should be more skilled in information technology to compete in the world stage and get good positions,” she said this while speaking as the chief guest at a scholarship awarding function titled ‘IELTS Scholarship-2015’ at British Council auditorium in the city organised by the British Council.
She expressed her thankfulness to the British Council for the scholarships for the meritorious students, as all parents are not able to bear the expenses.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique was the special guest while IELTS Business Development chief Kafil Chowdhury moderated the event.
The four award winning students are – Adina Zerin Khan, Suaiba Amina Salauddin, Dipika Dev Dipa and Tasnim Khandaker.
