Viqarunnisa Noon School and College (VNSC) students on Thursday postponed their agitation over the suicide by one of their peers IX grader Aritry Adhikary.
They will resume their ongoing final examinations and academic necessary classes today (Friday) with tear.
They made the announcement following the authorities’ apology over the whole episode.
A total of 25 students’ representatives held a meeting with the authorities of the institutions and took the decision of call off their demonstration.
Anushka Roy, a students’ representative who took part in the meeting, told reporters that they would attend the ongoing final examinations following apology for their mistake and assurance of not to harass any students in torture.
Golam Ashraf Talukdar, the President of
Viqarunnisa Noon School and College’s governing body, apologised on Thursday over the suicide incident.
The governing body is shocked and apologising to Aritry’s parents, he said at a press briefing inside the school premises.
“If necessary, members of the governing body will resign for the sake of the institution and its students,” he said.
Earlier, a representative team of the protesting students of the institution have submitted a letter containing their six-point demand to the education ministry.
