Khandaker Abul Kasem High School is located in a pleasant environment at Durbara Village in the rural area of the town of Talora, about 10 km south of Dupachanchia Upazila Sadar of Bogura district.
The school is facing various problems. Due to the lack of necessary infrastructure, students are attending regular classes at risk of corrupted buildings, said Chairman of the Managing Committee Abul Hossain.
Inadequate class room facility disrupted smooth education of the vast amount of student. Due to scarcity of fund, we are suffering much to give space for the students, he added.
According to school sources, the school was established with the sincere efforts of Khandaker Abul Kasem, a fan of education in the area. The MPO was admitted to the secondary level at the age of 26 and started teaching in the ninth grade. Students have been participating in SSC exams for over 20 years.
The school has 322 students, teachers have 10, and third class employees have 4. For the last 3 years, students have participated in SSC exams, but they have not yet received MPO. The problem of school buildings is a major problem.
A four-room building was constructed from the local government engineering department at a cost of Tk 22 lakh. A room in this building is being used as an office room, said a guarding of the school. Teaching of students is going on in three rooms with another stair house. The building has not been renovated for a long time, and cracks have taken place in several places. The porch and the floor of the room were sunk.
Meanwhile, the students are taking lessons at risk. Headmaster of the school Abdul Hai Khandakar said that the result of the JSC and SSC exams was very good in the school. In a pleasant environment surrounded by greenery, the number of students in the school is increasing day by day.
A two-storey building in the school is very urgent. He has failed to catch up with different people at different times for the building. The present Awami League government has given the highest importance to the education sector in order to build a digital Bangladesh.
A seven grade Student Mossammat Fatem Khatun and Zahid Hossain said they are attending in a shabby class room taking life risk. Vast among of student from class six to ten, they added.
Member of Parliament Aljah Nurul Islam Talukder said, “We are trying to ensure to make new building of the school next fiscal year to render the education of the school.” “Present government has underscored on education by providing all sort of necessary educational material including building.” MP added
