Students along with the mass in Bangladesh protested and strongly condemned Israel’s military attacks on Gaza in last five days.
Students and teachers of colleges and universities in Chittagong University, Rajshahi University and Jahangirnagar University demonstrated on July 13 condemning Israel’s brutality and demanding a stop to the military raids in Gaza.
In Chittagong, teachers and students of different educational institutions formed a human chain in front of Chittagong Press Club. Two Palestinian students, Asmaa Abu Shabad and Noor Annazar, studying at Asian University for Women, attended the program.
Noor Annazar, whose parents and two brothers are in Palestine, said she is afraid for the safety of her family members. She asked people from all over the world to come forward and oppose the attacks on her country. Chittagong University and Government City College students, among others, participated in the program.
Meanwhile, students, teachers, staff and different organisations of RU under the banner “Youth Society against Aggression” brought out a procession on the campus demanding that Israel stop its attacks on Gaza. They also formed a human chain in front of the RU central library.
In Jahangirnagar University, over 200 students and teachers formed a human chain on the campus asking the international community to come forward to save the Palestinians, according to our JU correspondent. Condemning international rights organisations, they said no body is pressurizing Israel to call off its attacks.
