The students of the down-stream areas of Netrakona district and its adjoining districts will get the facility of getting higher education easily after setting up the public university in Netrakona.
Local people of all walks of life have been experiencing joyous feelings since after hearing the news that a draft law of “Netrakona Sheikh Hasina Specialized Public University” was approved in the cabinet meeting on Monday.
Local people including students, teachers, freedom fighters, political leaders and public representatives expressed their delightful passionate feelings over the news and also expressed their gratitude to the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for taking the decision of establishing the specialized public university.
Netrakona Zila Parishad chairman Prasanta Ray, freedom fighter Ashraf Ali Khan Kashru hailing the decision for setting up the public university said a long cherished dream of the local people is going to be materialized.
The students of the area will get the facility of getting higher education easily, they said.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Musfiqur Rahman and superintendent of police Joydeb Chowdhury also congratulated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on behalf of the local people saying that the people of the district will be ever grateful for establishing the public university.
Many leaders of different socio-cultural and political organizations and professional groups and public representatives including mayor of Netrakona pourasabha Nazrul Islam Khan, chairman of Sadar upazila Kamrul Hasan Shahin, commander of district Muktizoddha Sangsad Nurul Amin, war-wounded freedom fighter Osman Gani and president of district Krishak League Kashob Ranjan Sarker also expressed their gratitude.
