“Now, the government exploit the people in the name of administration. People cannot coordinate between income and expenditure for increasing of the fuel oil prices. But when we protest, police attack us as well as file cases against us,” the protesters said.
“The price of fuel oil was increased upto 50 percent at a time unlike anywhere in the world. The essential commodities’ prices of rice, brief, eggs have been rising,” Maha Mirza, a researcher and activist said.
“Now, a middle income family lives miserably and as such it is difficult for the students of that family to continue their study as the educational cost increase so far,” he added.
“Mega projects are being built with loans from other countries. If the present situation of the country worsens, what will happen when the debt will be repaid after 2024?” Maha Mirza said.
“Today the countrymen are hostages to the market syndicate. The government does not take any action against the market syndicate but it is also giving sponsor and shelter in various ways,” Bazlur Rashid Feroz, General Secretary of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal said.
