At that time the agitating students said that those of us who are studying have no income of their own. Everyone is dependent on family. Besides, we are not the only ones studying in the family. Our brothers and sisters are also studying. Many of those who use public transport are children of middle-lower-middle-class families. So keeping in mind the students, I am demanding to halve the fare on public transport.
Additional Commissioner of Chittagong Metropolitan Police Vijay Basak said some students were protesting for safe roads and various demands.
