Chattogram Bureau :
The students who began protesting in Chattogram in solidarity with Dhaka protesters campaigning for safe roads say they will call off their protest and return to their classrooms.
The students, who had occupied the road for a few days, announced the decision after speaking with Chattogram Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Elias Hossain on Sunday. Student representatives from various educational institutions attended the meeting with Hossain.
Students presented several demands at the meeting based on the nine raised by the Dhaka protesters. The deputy commissioner assured that the demands would be met. The students then announced they would return to class on Monday.
On the other hand, the Distirct Transport Association Group has postponed their indefinite strike from yesterday morning. All sorts of public transpsorts went on roads in the city and in all regional roads of greater chattogram and the inter district buses seen plying to their desired destinations.
