‘Students’ cabinet to develop democratic attitude’

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said that the students’ cabinet elections would develop values and democratic attitude among the students.
They (students) would learn to show respect to others’ opinions and thoughts by participating in the elections, the minister said this on Thursday while visiting the Students’ Cabinet Election at Tejgaon Government Girls’ High School in the city.
He also monitored the voting process and talked to the election commissioners, said an official release.
The Students’ Cabinet Election was held at 22,909 secondary-level educational institutions simultaneously across the country.
The cabinet will be formed at each high school and Dakhil Madrasah with eight elected student representatives, the release added.
A total of 2,71,299 students contested the polls across the country against 1,83,272 posts, it said.
