The body of a schoolboy named Prant Dev (18) has been recovered from Osmaninagar in Sylhet on Sunday evening. Osmaninagar police recovered his hanging body from his kitchen house.
Prant Dev is the son of Pradeep Deb of Gayanaghat area of Goalabazar UP and a 10th class student of Goalabazar Adarsha High School.
According to police sources, I committed suicide by hanging myself with a towel with the arrow in the kitchen at some point on Sunday afternoon when no one was at home. In the afternoon, others in the house came home and shouted and got no response and found the body hanging in the kitchen through the gap of the house.
After receiving the news, Osmaninagar police recovered the body from the side of the road at around 7 pm on Sunday and sent it to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. Meanwhile, the teachers and students of Goalabazar Adarsh Higher Secondary School observed a minute of silence at 10 am on Monday to express their grief and sorrow for the soul of the slain student.
Osmaninagar Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) SM Main Uddin said the body was recovered and sent to Osmani Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. An unnatural death case has been registered in this regard.
