A college student was stabbed to death by terrorists at Mamar Bazar area in Gowainghat upazila on Wednesday evening.
The deceased was identified as Dildar Hossain, 20, son of Mostafa Mia, a student of Jointapur Tayab Ali Degree College and resident of Lakherpar village of the upazila.
Mostafa Mia said, Mazir Ahmed, son of Mantaz Mia, and a so-called Jubo League activist, along with his cohorts managed to take Dildar by surprise, stab him enough times, and flee.
Mostafa said, Mazir carried a grudge against his son over some trifling matter from the past.
On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body and took it to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared
him dead. It was later sent to morgue for autopsy, said Hillol Roy, Officer-in-Charge of Gowainghat Police Station.
No one has been arrested yet in this connection, added the OC.
