A fifth grader was allegedly raped by her neighbor in a village of Altapole in Kashobpur Upazila of Jashore district on Sunday night.
The victim’s mother filed a case with Kashobpur police Station against the Rapist Nazrul Islam 30 son of Insar Ali of the Upazila.
Police also arrested the rapist from his resident.
The mother alleged that Nazrul Islam took her daughter to a bamboo garden and raped her there.
He also threatened to kill her daughter if she disclosed the incident, she added.
The victim shared it with her mother. The family members then informed villagers.
The villagers assured them of settling the matter through arbitration and asked them not to go to police. Seeing no move for the arbitration, the mother filed the case.
Md. Saheen, officer in charge Kashobpur Police station said, that we arrested the rapist. The child is in Khulna medical college hospital under treatment. His forensic examination will be done in the hospital. A case was filed with keshobpur police station.
