A primary school student was killed in Putia upazila of Rajshahi district after a auto-rickshaw struck her on the road Saturday noon . At this the irate people blocked the road for an hour protesting the killing.
The deceased has been identified as Mim Akter, a student of Class three of Zaghirpara Government Primary school. Her father’s name is Sohel Rana from Boraipara under Puthia Upazila of Rajshahi dstrict.
According to local source, the tragic incident took place when the students were returning to their residences in the afternoon at the end of the classes . An auto-rickshaw ran through the students injuring Mim.. She was taken to the RMCH for treatment. But the doctor declared her no more.
Charghat Model Thana Police reached the accident venue and recovered the body said OC Nazrul Islam. The misfortunate does not come alone. However we are regretting her death, said UNO Nazmul Haque. UZ Chairman Faqrul Islam told the media, We should be conscious about the rules of road crossing for students. Basically a teacher or any school staff should halp the students to walk across the road.
