A school student Sabbir Hossain (10) was killed in a scarf of electricity in Domar Upazila of Nilphamari on Wednesday noon. The incident happened at Barobisha Baminiya Kachari Bazar area under Bamunia union of the district. Sumaiya Akter (10) and Rubina Begum (10), two other children, were seriously injured in the incident.
Locals said that recently there was a huge loss of electricity transmission lines along with other damages in the storm and rock rains over the upazila. At that time, one of the irrigation pump connections in Bamunia Kachari Bazar area fell on the ground. At noon, 3 children of the second generation of the area were electrocuted after being caught in the lightning wire.
Later, locals rescued them and sent them to Domar Upazila Health Complex. The doctors declared Shabbir dead. The injured Sumaiya Akhter was rushed to Rangpur Medical College Hospital.

Rubina Begum is undergoing treatment at Upazila Health Complex. About this, Saiful Islam Mandal, executive engineer of Domar’s electricity sales and distribution center, said that the matter was being investigated.
