Stringent security for Aug 15

The government has alerady enforced a stringent security in the capital and elsewhere of the country with increased deployment of law enforcers marking the 42nd Martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Mourning Day on August 15.
“All measures have been undertaken to ensure foolproof security in the capital and elsewhere of the country on this occasion,” Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan told newsmen after emerging from a meeting at his ministry’s conference room here.
Chairing the meeting, he said the government would deploy adequate security personnel along with necessary security surveillance equipment at different key points of the city for total peace and tranquility during the observance of the 42nd martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation and the National Mourning Day.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Hoque and representatives from other ministries were present at the meeting.
The minister said adequate number of close circuit television cameras (CCTVs) would be installed at Dhanmondi Road-32, Banani graveyard area and other points to ensure security, as thousands of people from all sections of the society would throng there to pay their deep homage to Father of the Nation and other martyrs of that fateful night.
He said members of law enforcement agencies including police, anti-crime elite force Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and different intelligence agencies, both in uniform and plain clothes, would remain alert to prevent any untoward incident on the day.
He urged all to extend necessary help and support to the members of the law enforcement agencies on the security issue, adding, “Law enforcement agencies will beef up security in and around Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi and Tungipara in Gopalganj.”
The National Mourning Day marking the martyrdom of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman will be observed on August 15 (Tuesday).
The minister also placed a set of directives for ensuring security and traffic management in and around No 32 Dhanmondi, Banani and Tungipara area, which will be followed on August 15.
