Two women, including a college girl, were killed as trees collapsed on them during a storm that ravaged the district on Saturday morning. The deceased were identified as college student Tanzila, daughter of Kuddus Hawlader, a resident of Hat area in Sadar upazila, and Selima Begum, a resident of Amkhola village in Golachipa upazila. Tanzila and Selima Begum were killed as trees collapsed on their houses during a storm in the district at about 10:30 am, confirmed officer-in-charges of
Sadar and Golachipa police stations Tariqul Islam and Harun-or-Rashid. Several hundred houses were also damaged by the storm.
