BSS, Dhaka :
Health and Family Welfare Minister and Awami League (AL) Presidium Member Mohammed Nasim on Wednesday urged BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia to join the next general elections after organizing her party and refraining from hatching conspiracies.
“Please organize your party (BNP) refraining from hatching conspiracies and get prepared for the next general election. Please don’t flee the polls,” the minister said, addressing a discussion and sports materials distribution ceremony at the main auditorium of the National Museum at Shahbag in the city.
Sheikh Russel Jatiya Shishu Kishore Parishad organized the discussion and distributed the sports materials among school students marking the 53rd birthday of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s youngest son Sheikh Russell.
Secretary General of the Parishad Mahmud-Us-Samad presided over the function that was addressed by advisor of the Parishad Sirajul Islam Mollah, MP, organizing secretary Mojahidur Rahman and office secretary Mujibur Rahman Hawlader.
The next election will be held as per the country’s constitution like in other democratic countries of the world, Nasim, also spokesperson of the 14-party alliance, said, adding that the abolished caretaker government system will never come back.
He said BNP founder Ziaur Rahman and his wife Khaleda Zia had sheltered and saved the killers of Bangabandhu. So, Ziaur-Rahman can never be a leader of democracy, he added.
AL cannot compromise with the collaborators of Bangabandhu’s killers, Nasim said, adding that they would not be able to come to power by hatching conspiracies as the elections could not be foiled trough creating anarchy in the country.
