Claiming that the ‘Bijoy Mela’ being held at the Chattogram Outer Stadium was arranged by fake freedom fighters for their person gains, around 50 freedom fighters have demanded it be stopped.
They made the demand in a statement issued on Wednesday.
The statement signed by freedom fighter and cultural personality Dewan Maksud Ahmed said the fake freedom fighters arranged a trade fair in the name of ‘Bijoy Mela’ in collusion with a section of officials to make money. It also questioned the timing of the fair, saying when the Victor Day Parade has been postponed due to the national election, the arrangement of the fair might be a plot to foil the polls.
