Stolen neonatal baby recovered after 4 days, 3 arrtested

The three-day-old baby, who was stolen on early Sunday (June 4) from the mother’s lap at the hospital’s labour ward of Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital, recovered by Rapid Action Battalion Unit-8 on Thursday.
Three named as Hawa Bibi, 45, her daughter Rina Begum, 22, and son in law Solaiman Hossain, 28, all from Nalbunia under Taltali upazila of Barguna district, were arrested in this connection.
Lt.Col. Anwar Uzzaman, commanding oficer of RAB-8, holding a press conference at RAB-8 headquarter in Barisal revealed these facts in presence of Major Adnan Kabir, spokesman, CPC commander Hasan Ali of RAB-8, recovered victim with parents and arrestees on Thursday noon.
Lt. Col. Anwar Uzzaman, said the baby was the son of Salma Begum and construction worker Anwar Hossain Akon, residents of village Khorki under Mehendiganj in Barisal and delivered at SBMCH on Thursday last ( June 1).
Father of the missing baby lodged a case in this connection with Barisal Kotwali Police station on June 4 night and also appealed before RAB-8 on June 5 to recover his son.
RAB starting investigation, at first detained Hawa Begum from Nalbunis on Tuesday night.
According to her confessional statement RAB team then raided the house of her daughter Rina and son in law Sulaiman at Fatulla of Narayanganj and recovered the abducted baby on early Thursday.
