A contingent of the Coastguards of the Western Zone deployed at Mongla seized stolen goods worth Taka more than 27 lakh from Kanainagar area of the river Pashur of Momngla Sea Port on Monday, according to a report received here. Coastguard (Western Zone Officer) Lt. Commander Md. Hasnuzzaman told, acting on secret informalities the members of the coastguards raided the area on Monday, searched the area from the morning to noon. At that time the members of the coastguards recovered 48 pieces SS pipes. Out of them 9 pipes are 20 feet in length while the rest 39 pipes are 18 feet in length. Their market price is Tk.27 lakh 74 thousand 5 hundred.
It may be mentioned here that only 2 days ago some 23 SS pipes worth Tk.40 lakh 25 thousand were recovered by the members of the coastguards from the same place. The seized SS pipes were stolen from Rampal Power Plant area by an organized gang of thieves and hide in the area.
