Bearish trend continued in the country’s two bourses for the sixth day on Wednesday in a row as the major indices on Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) maintained downward trend due to selling spree.
However, turnover, a crucial indicator of the market, rose to Taka 560.35 crore from the Tuesday’s Taka 472.98 crore on the DSE. The daily trade volume also declined to 13.98 crore shares from previous session’s 14.54 crore shares.
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, lost 15.13 points to settle at 5,627.33 over the previous session. DSEX lost more than 186 points in the six consecutive sessions.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, settled at 2085.52, losing 10.13 points. However, the DSE Shariah Index (DSES) gained 3.19 points to close at 1,309.03.
