Stocks witness upward trend on large-cap vibe

Stocks witnessed upward trend on Tuesday as major indices of both Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchanges were found rising trend with higher activities of some large-cap securities. The broader DSEX of DSE closed the day with 29.73 points up at 5,408.46. The blue-chip DS30 and the Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with 16.47 points up at 1,901.42 and with 14.43 points up at 1,242.57 respectively.
At the DSE, out of the day’s 335 securities, prices of 158 securities closed higher against 130 losing issues.
The major gaining issues were Provati Insurance, BPML, Queen South, Paramount and ACFL. The major losing issues were Padma Life, Samata Leather, Dulamia Cotton, Shyampur Sugar and KDSALTD. BBS Cables topped the turnover list followed by Ifad Autos, HFL, Shepherd and Active Fine.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with upward trends with its major CASPI 45.83 points up at 16,584.79. At the CSE, 235 issues were traded. Of those, 114 closed higher and 100 closed lower.
