Stock markets witnessed flat on Monday when daily transactions declined on lower demand.
The day’s trade value at DSE declined to Taka 873.69 crore from Sunday’s Taka 955.40 crore and the daily trade fell to 18.30 crore shares from 21.25 crore shares of the previous session.
The broader DSEX index of Dhaka Stock Exchange closed the day with 3.16 points up at 5,339.91. The blue-chip DS30 also followed the same trend with 2.08 points up at 1,897.24. But the Shariah DSES closed the day with 0.52 points down at 1,265.34.
At DSE, out of the day’s 340 securities, prices of 144 securities closed higher against 139 losing issues.
The major gaining issues were Rupali Life, ITC, Padma Life, NFML and KDSALTD while the major losing issues were BD Auto Cars, Prime Tex, SAIHAMTEX, Safko Spinning and ANWARGALV. KDSALTD topped the turnover list followed by KPCL, GP, Peninsula and BBS Cables.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with downward trend with its major CASPI 4.91 points down at 16,447.51.
