Stocks witness flat on lower transactions

Stock markets witnessed flat on Wednesday when daily transactions declined on lower demand.
The day’s trade value at DSE declined to Taka 546.69 crore from Tuesday’s Taka 555.22 crore and the daily trade fell to 15.01 crore shares from 16.95 crore shares of the previous session.
The broader DSEX index of Dhaka Stock Exchange closed the day with 2.77 points up at 5,793.05. The blue-chip DS30 also followed the same trend with 1.25 points up at 2,167.24. But the Shariah DSES closed the day with 2.37 points down at 1,348.46.
At DSE, out of the day’s 336 securities, prices of 147 securities closed higher against 152 losing issues.
The major gaining issues were Rupali Life, Nitol Insurance, Monno Stafflers, Renwick JA and Libra Infusion. The major losing issues were CAPMIBBLMF, Dulamia Cotton, Islami Bank, Central Insurance and BXSYNTH.
BRAC Bank topped the turnover list followed by Ifad Autos, Unique HRL, Beximco and Aamra Net.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with upward trend with its major CASPI 8.41points up at 17, 840.09.
At CSE, 234were issues traded while 85 closed higher and 122 closed lower when 70.11 lakh shares worth Taka 18.15 crore changed hands.
