Stock markets witnessed flat on Wednesday when daily transactions declined on lower demand.
The day’s trade value at DSE declined to Taka 679.23 crore from Tuesday’s Taka 813.20 crore and the daily trade fell to 19.33 crore shares from 24.12 crore shares of the previous session.
The border DSEX index of Dhaka Stock Exchange closed the day with 5.98 points up at 6,278.55. The blue-chip DS30 and the Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with 5.81 points up at 2,261.04 and with 0.26 points up at 1,381.58. At DSE, out of the day’s 331 securities, prices of 125 securities closed higher against 155 losing issues.
The major gaining issues were Square Textile, Confidence Cement, LIBRAINFU, Padma Life and ICBAMCL2ND. The major losing issues were Keya Cosmetics, BD Welding, ECABLES, Dacca Dying and RENWICKJA.
Shahjalal Bank topped the turnover list followed by National Tubes, Standard Bank. Fu Wang Food and Confidence cement. The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with upward trend with its major CASPI 5.02 points up at 19,420.06.
At CSE, 248 issues were traded while 92 closed higher and 119 closed lower when 1.23 crore shares worth Taka 33.70 crore changed hands.
