Stock market was steady on Sunday on increasing transactions of bank and telecom securities and price rise of a debut issue in the textile sector.
DSEX, the broader index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), eased by 4.20 points to 4558.94, with the blue-chip DS30 and Shariah DSES indices following it to finish the session at 1783.94 and 1121.20 respectively.
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also experienced the similar trend in the market, with its major CASPI index closing over 27 points at 14001.46.
Out of the traded 325 issues of at DSE, 111 gained against 162 declining issues. At CSE, 93 issues closed higher when 121 finished the day lower.
The daily turnover in volume at DSE was 19.18 percent up at 11.43 crore shares when the daily trade value was marginally up at Taka 374.14 crore.
The day’s major gaining sectors were bank and telecom while food and allied and fuel and power lost marginally.
Among the day’s top gaining issues were Evince Textiles Limited, BD Finance, National Tea Company, GSP Finance and Sunlife Insurance.
