Stock markets closed on Wednesday slightly up with a trend of recovery as the major indices have been found finishing upwards due to mainly rising prices of the large-cap securities despite lower transactions.
The rising major sectors were insurance and textile. A total of 150 securities of the large-cap group moved up due to higher activities.
The broader DSEX index of DSE closed the day with 11.41 points up at 5,635.06. The blue-chip DS30 and Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with 5.44 points up at 2,090.98 and 4.92 points up at 1,338.12.
At DSE, out of the day’s 334 securities, prices of 193 securities closed higher against 92 losing issues.
The day’s trade value at DSE decreased to Taka 224.08 crore from Tuesday’s Taka 282.32 crore and the daily trade fell to 6.76 crore shares from 8.68 crore shares of the previous session.
The major gaining issues were CAPMIBBLMF, Asia Pacific Insurance, Queen South, Phoenix Insurance and CAPMBDBLMF while the major losing companies were Republic Insurance, 1JANATAMF, United Insurance, ILFSL and Union Capital.
Monno Ceramics topped the turnover list followed by GP, Ifad Autos, Brac Bank and Square Pharma.
